01 — The Centre

Built by Olympic swimmers, for the athletes who come after them.

BEST — Bluewater Elite Sports Training Centre — was developed by two former Olympic swimmers, James Parrack and Matthew O'Connor, who represented Great Britain at the 1988 and 1992 Games. It opened in Colònia de Sant Jordi on 4 July 2009.

A 10-lane 50m pool

An outdoor Astral pool built to FINA standards, heated year-round to a constant 27°C, with a constant 2m depth.

Thousands of swimming, water polo, triathlon and artistic swimming teams have trained here since 2002.

03 — Facilities

Everything on one site.

  1. 01

    The pool

    50m × 25m × 2m, ten lanes, outdoor and heated year-round to a constant 27°C. Set up long course or short course, with two filming windows and a rooftop viewing platform.

  2. 02

    The gym

    A swimming-dedicated gym supplied by Technogym — cable jungle and cross, multipower rack, leg press, dumbbells, Olympic bars and discs.

  3. 03

    Dry land

    A large outdoor multi-surface area for dryland sessions, bootcamps, yoga and stretching, plus a second patio with picnic tables for team meetings.

  4. 04

    Beyond the pool

    Four private running trails in the pine woods 1km from the centre, a 400m athletic track and a full-sized astro football pitch.

The most southern tip of Mallorca.

Colònia de Sant Jordi is encircled by national park, with Es Trenc and Es Carbó beaches and the island of Cabrera on the doorstep — and the sea a short walk from the pool.
